What is prepaid Wireless?

What is a SIM Card?
A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is the heart of the GSM cell phone. SIM cards come in three different sizes: Mini-SIM, Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. What is GSM?
GSM is a digital standard first offered commercially in 1991 and is currently the most popular mobile phone transmission technology in the world. One of the great benefits of a GSM phone is the addition of a SIM card, or "Subscriber Identification Module." This little chip slips into the back of GSM phones and provides all of the users’ personal information. This includes contacts and calendar information in most cases, and more importantly the subscriber’s personal identification information. Having this information on removable chip enables a GSM phone user to move a SIM card between mobile phones and still receive voice calls to the same number. It also prevents user from having to re-input personal information each time a new phone is purchased.

How do I check my available balance? 
You will be able to check your balance from your handset at any time.  

Can I place international calls with the prepaid SIM card?
Yes, our SIM cards offer international calling. 

Are all incoming calls free?
Yes, we offer free incoming calls in 38 countries. Please refer to our rates sections. 

What number will I receive?
You will receive a U.K. and U.S. mobile number. The U.K. mobile number offers FREE incoming calls in 38 countries. You will also receive a U.S. mobile number. Your incoming call rate will only increase $0.29 per min when answering a call with your U.S. mobile number. Callers from the U.S. will not incur an international long distance charge when dialing this number.

Are there any additional roaming charges?
No, all of our posted rates included all roaming charges, taxes and long distance charges.  

Do the prepaid SIM cards offer voicemail?
Yes, all of our prepaid SIM cards offer voicemail access.

What is a Quad- Band phone?
A Quad-band GSM phone operates on the four internationally designated GSM frequencies- 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. No, there is no need to purchase multiple SIM cards when traveling to multiple countries.  

Do I need to program the phone?
Programming is not required, your World Phone will automatically search and register with the local carrier in each country. 

Do I need to install the SIM card?
Your SIM card is already installed and activated in your World Phone.  

Can I Top-up the World Phone with airtime?
Yes, you can Top-up or recharge your World Phone at any time. You can Top-up on our web set, from your World Phone with our "Quick Top-up" service or by calling our 24/7 Top-up center.     

How do I check my available balance? 
You will be able to check your balance from your World Phone at any time.  

Do you offer voicemail retrieval service?
Yes, we offer voicemail access. 

Can I place and receive calls when I arrive at my travel location?
Yes, you will be able to place and receive calls immediately.
